This BMW was produced in January 1939 and on the 27th of January send to the BMW Versuchsabteilung. On the 21st of December 1939 this car was delivered to BMW dealership Bovenkamp in Wuppertal, Germany. Car was originally delivered in black (information provided by BMW Group Historischer Informationsdienst). In 2004 the car was acquired by Mr James Depagter in New Orleans LA, USA he owned the car till he passed away in September 2014. In December 2015 the car has been imported into The Netherlands. At this time the engine was missing. The Dutch owner ordered a completely overhauled 328 engine, Solex carburettors etc to complete the car again combined with a 4 speed Volvo gearbox and a correct driveshaft and chassismountings for a total amount of 41.000 Euros (invoices available) by a respected German restorer supplier. Also a lot of new parts goes with the car, e.g. a complete new wirering set, new petrol tank, overhauled/new dashboard instruments, some new woodframe parts etc. The Dutch owner also had the chassis and brakes been restored. So at relatively little work and costs the restoration can be finished. If you are interested; please contact Mr. Henny Kennis for an appointment to inspect the BMW.
